FREE Software Downloads 

Ad-Duha’s goal is to assist parents in every aspect of teaching their children about the deen, especially for those parents who are non-Arabic speakers or do not have previous experience in the Islamic sciences. Therefore, we are now offering the teaching software to accompany our courses for FREE Download. This software teaches the correct pronunciation of all suwaar (chapters of the Qur’aan), vocabulary, ad’iyaa (supplications), dictation, and names of Allah taught in the Ad-Duha courses.

Software Download Instructions:
Click on the CD image to begin the download. Depending on the speed of your connection the download may take up to 30 minutes. All software will download as a zipped folder. You will need to unzip and open the folder, then click on “PPTVIEW” to start the program. For troubleshooting tips, scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Online Flash Instructions:
Click on the CD image to open the Flash Presentation. Please make sure you have the latest Flash Player installed. The program will automatically open in your browser. You will not be able to save the file to your computer. Bookmark this page in order to come back and use the program again. An internet connection is required in order to use the Flash Version of the programs.

This guide includes pronunciation guides, an explanation of the methodology used in developing our Qur’aan & Arabic course materials, and information on what each level of the program teaches. Please be sure to print it out and read it before beginning to use the downloads (above) in order to avoid confusion.

This software, although not produced by Ad-Duha, is available for free and works well to help students who are learning the Arabic alphabet and/or how to read Arabic.

Note: This software does have a short musical introduction for each section. This music cannot be turned of, but it can be cut short by clicking on the sub-activity that you wish to work on. While completing the games and activities themselves, there is no background music.

Troubleshooting Tips:

Here are some of the most common technical issues that customers encounter with our software and the solutions to each, insha-Allah.

1. I cannot open the program?

If you are using MAC or Vista, the download version of the software will not work. You will need to use the Flash Format (right side of the table) to view the software using your browser instead. If you are trying to view the Flash version, but are unable to, please make sure you have the latest Flash Player on your computer.

2. When I go to open the download folder, it is empty (there are no files to run)?

This results from trying to start the software when the download is not totally complete. The software contains many large sound files, therefore it may take a while to download to your computer (depending on your connection speed). Please allow plenty of time for the download to complete before trying to open and run the files, especially when downloading overseas, to older computers, or with dial-up internet access.

3. The program runs very slowly?

This most often results from clicking on the start file more than once. It results in multiple instances of the program running at the same time, thus slowing the computer down. In this case press ESC to close down all open windows and then start the program again making sure to open only one instance.

If it still runs slow you may need to open “Task Manager” (Press ctrl + alt + delete at the same time and choose Task Manager from the menu). You can check here to make sure all instances of the program have been closed.

4. The program opens, but there is no sound?

Please make sure your speakers are attached and the volume is turned up. If you still are not sure if the speakers are working test another CD, video, or game on your computer (that you know is working fine) to make sure the volume is adjusted correctly.

5. The Arabic text does not show up correctly?

You will need to do one (or both) of the following so that your computer can display the Arabic fonts.

  • Install the Al-Qur’an Plug-In (English version)
    If the Arabic fonts do not display correctly, download this plug-in to fix the problem. You can also download from here as well.
     
  • Install the Arabic font "Traditional  Arabic" on your computer.
    You can download this front from a number of places on the web (just search for Traditional Arabic font download on Google). Then get instructions on how to install the font on your operating system from the Microsoft web site.
